Abbey Park Holiday Party 2018

Members of Lyon Area Rotary annually decorate a Rotary tree to participate in the tree decoration contest at Abbey Park at Mill River, where our weekly meetings are held. We help out at their annual holiday party by serving food and assisting with the clean-up. Family and friends of the residents attended the festivities, which lead to over 300 people taking part in our Rotary raffle. Thank you to everyone involved! It was a great way to get in the holiday spirit!

PUMPKINFEST PARADE 2018

Annually, the Lyon Area Rotarians 

participate in the South Lyon Pumpkinfest Parade to represent our club and then we help sell Pumpkinfest

t-shirts and concessions for the event!

In 2019, we added an annual Rotary games booth

to the Pumpkinfest weekend activities. 

 It is a great time spent in our community and we look forward to our continued involvement into the future!

Robert Limbright of Lyon Area Rotary and Mav Sanghvi of Novi Rotary traveled along with 25,000 other Rotarians from around the world to attend the 2018 Rotary International Convention in Toronto.

Highlights from the 4 day event included:

​

- Former First Lady, Laura W. Bush, thanking Rotarians for their commitment to education and healthcare.
- The inspirational and insightful words spoken by various Prime Ministers and Princes at the event. 
-The amazing experience at the Host Hospitality night put on by the Markham Sunrise Rotary club in tandem with the Markham-Unionville Rotary Club. The two clubs along with their choir provided a wonderful evening of food and entertainment.

-What makes Rotary a special organization to belong to was exemplified by the fact that Rotarian, Roger Bynde, went out of his way to furnish Rotarians transportation that evening and Club President, Cheryl Jones, opened up her home for an excellent event.
